Lake Ontario Vineyard Estate is a corporation started by owners Tomm and Marsha Maxon who purchased the land with a 2 phase plan in mind:
Phase One: Complete
Farmhouse Maple – research and training led to the miles of tubing system in the 25 acre maple sugar bush. New processing equipment, including a reverse osmosis machine and pellet driven evaporator fills the space in the newly built sugar house. A commercial kitchen is in place to create mouthwatering candies, confections, popcorn, and tasty recipes.
Phase Two: Still Ahead
Tastevin – wine growing and wine tasting are next on the list. The front 50 acres lend nicely to creating a majestic vineyard. An existing structure will undergo renovation to become the wine tasting, gift shop, and event center. The Tastevin will become a venue for weddings, private parties, corporate events, Sunday brunches and more. The front section of the Tastevin will host the gift shop and wine tasting area. The Tastevin will become one of the newest members of the Thousand Islands Seaway Wine Trail.
